Favorite Blog Posts of October

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer.

October being my favorite month, mostly due to Halloween, so I’m particularly sad that this month is over. It was a hell of a busy month! We moved into our first house and I swear that alone ate up our whole month with planning, packing, moving, cleaning, projects. Ugh! I could seriously use another week or two of October. But, sadly, November is upon us and I’m sure this month will fly by just as fast! Take a look at my four favorite posts from this past month and be sure to tell me down below what your favorite was!

Unique Date Ideas w/ Eventbrite

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer

Date night is the highlight of some people’s week but planning what exactly to do is another story. Coming up with something other than a movie night or a nice dinner is sometimes difficult, whether you’ve been married for 15+ years or you’ve just started seeing each other. Going the extra little mile and coming up with a really fun and unique date idea is a great way to impress your significant other. I recently was introduced to this great site that I’d love to share with all of you that will make date night planning a breeze for everyone! Eventbrite is a site where you can search for your city and it will pull up all the events going on in your area. I’ve gone through my area (small town in the Midwest) and found numerous unique things that I wouldn’t of thought of on my own. I highly recommend going over to their website and taking a look!

Here are some date night ideas that you’ll easily find on Eventbrite :

Concert

Wine/Craft Beerhouse Tour

Fitness Classes

Comedy Show

Museum Tour

Festivals

Happy Hours

Marathon

Theatrical Plays

Art Exhibitions

SOOOO Much More!

Eventbrite also has a feature on their site where you can create your own event. You can use it for friend/family gatherings or you can organize a larger event that’s open to the public. It’s a great way to get people together and involved with one another. Next time you are considering planning an event, I highly recommend using Eventbrite to help you organize and get the word out.

Leave a comment below and let me know what events you’d like to attend in your area!

Valentine’s Day On A Budget

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer

Valentine’s Day is great but also can be quite expensive. I wanted to offer some great budget friendly ideas that are quite possibly better than the traditional fancy restaurant date many people default to. These budget friendly ideas also show more thought than just making reservations. I hope you all enjoy!

Romantic Dinner

Instead of going out to a busy restaurant and spending a reasonable amount of money, consider staying home and cooking dinner for your significant other. Just cook, light some candles, shut off electronics and spending some quality time together. A wonderful and thoughtful gesture will mean more than just taking them out to a fancy restaurant and will save you some money!

Go Into Nature

Find the nearest state park or river and take a walk/hike around in nature. Getting outside and exercising with each other is a great idea for your Valentine’s Day date. Pack a picnic and find a great spot to set up and enjoy a meal outside!

Do Something You Both Enjoy

Animal lover? Take them to the animal shelter to play with the animals. Décor lover? Take them to a local antique home décor shop and explore all the great products. Coffee lover? Find a new coffeehouse they haven’t been to and order a couple drinks. You can make any part of your significant other’s likes into a great budget friendly date!

Movie Night In

Instead of going out to a movie and spending too much money on the overpriced snacks, do a movie night in with each other! Rent a movie you’ve both been dying to see, get your guys’ favorite snacks, and cuddle up on the couch. It’ll be a great way to bond and get some alone time in without breaking the bank.

Go On An Adventure

It’s been proved that taking road trips and traveling with your significant other is a rather strong bonding activity, which makes it just perfect for a budget friendly Valentine’s date. Go to the nearest big city and explore all the little shops, go for a drive around the countryside (you’ll be surprised what you could stumble upon), or go to a town you’ve both never been to and discover what makes that town special.

I hope you find these budget friendly ideas helpful for all of you on a budget this year! Hope you all have a great Valentine’s Day! Comment below with your favorite Valentine’s date you’ve had so far!
