Anjou Essential Oil Review

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer.

Essential oil diffusers are a huge trend that is seen everywhere nowadays. And for good reason! I just finished up my large sample pack that I ordered along with my diffuser. I purchased my diffuser around Christmas last year and use it religiously! It’s become a HUGE part of my night routine. I find it so relaxing and helps me sleep so much better. I’ve recently started bringing my diffuser out into my living room to keep the good vibes and relaxing scents going all day! I may to purchase another solely for the living room so I don’t have to keep moving it around so much.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Anjou diffuser I purchased and, consequently, the same goes for their oils. I have been loving their line. I just repurchased the same sample pack that came with my diffuser from Amazon. I used up every single oil and loved each and every one. I’ll leave a link here to a post where I tell you my favorite essential oil combinations so you can give these a try if you buy this pack. Like I said earlier, I got this same pack about six months ago and just recently ran through it all. I’d say that’s a pretty good life span for these oils for being used all night every night! I’m eager to break into my next sample pack and to branch out in the future and try out other oils.

Leave me a comment below if you’d like to see my night routine!

Makeup & Skincare Haul Reviews

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer

I’ve had these products for a little over a month now and I feel like I’ve used them all enough to give a good review on my thoughts/experiences. I’m overall very pleased with all my purchases which I was expecting. I tried to research the products to the best of my ability since most all of these products were for my big day. So, without further ado, let’s get into the products.

Origins Active Charcoal Mask

This mask has been great and I feel like it’s actually doing its job. My face feels so much better after using it. I definitely don’t use it more than once a week; so, I’ve worked it into my weekend pamper routine and I’m thoroughly enjoying it!

RCMA Powder

I don’t know why it took me so long to try this! This powder is amazing. I’ve been using it to bake my under eye area and lightly dusting it all over my face to set my foundation. It looks so natural and keeps my concealer from creasing under my eyes. Amazing product and I highly recommend it!

Hourglass Stick Foundation

I used this foundation the week prior to my wedding and on the big day itself. It was an amazing full coverage foundation that wore well throughout the day. It photographed beautifully all day and night. However, I did return it to Sephora afterwards because I prefer a more natural foundation for my day to day life. I don’t attend many extravagant events that would prompt me to keep it around. If a beautiful full coverage is what you’re looking for, I highly recommend this product.

Sephora Collection Pro Press Full Coverage Complexion Brush

This brush is amazing and paired so well with the Hourglass Stick Foundation, which was my intent when purchasing it. With taking back the Hourglass foundation, I also returned this. I prefer my Born This Way foundation application with my trusty Beauty Blender. I was sad to see this brush go; but, again, I had no need for it to just sit around in my makeup collection

Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray

I’ll definitely be repurchasing this product again and again after I use it up. I’ve been using it every day after I’m done with my makeup. It blends the powder so well into the foundation that no matter how much makeup you pack on, you won’t look cakey. Love this stuff!

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Frill Seeker

This color is to die for and my ultimate go-to when I’m painting my nails. The formula was great as well! I used this polish for my toes on the big day and the color is still on! I’m very impressed! I’m eager to see how well it lasts on my fingernails once I need to repaint them. I’ll keep you updated!

Vegas Nay Lashes in Easy Elegance

As I said in my previous post, these lashes are the perfect amount of wispy and fluffy. They looked amazing. I had many people ask me if they were real or eyelash extensions. I didn’t use the eyelash glue that came with the lashes; instead, I used my trusty Ardell clear glue. I look forward to trying more Vegas Nay lashes in the future!

I had a lot of winners in this haul (thank goodness). It’s always a great feeling to add more essential products to the arsenal. I hope you enjoyed learning a little more about these products and I hope you try some out. Let me know in the comments below if you have any recommendations for me to try out next!

Wedding Wednesday – All About The Groom

Suit : Younkers  |  Shirt  : Younkers  |  Tie : Younkers  |  Shoes  : JC Penny  |

|  Cufflinks : Amazon  |  Watch : Amazon

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer

Since last week I focused on my outfit, I thought that this week would be a great time to talk all about my husband’s look. He, of course, looks like a stud all the time but he was especially studly on our wedding day.

My husband and I talked about his outfit before the day of and we decided on going with a navy look. I’m so glad we did because navy looked so great with the blush and champagne tones throughout our event. Navy, as opposed to your standard black or gray, helps not to wash you or your groom out. (It looked great with his olive skin tones so that’s a plus!) To compliment his navy suit, we used brown accents for some of his accessories. These shoes definitely popped and went so well with the new watch we picked up. This watch was such a neat find and so unique.

Overall, we both really loved the way his whole ensemble came together. Venturing out of the traditional black/gray realm was definitely a must for us as well. He looked so handsome and I’m so happy I get to call this man my husband.

What Apps Are On My Phone

What Apps Are On My Phone.PNG

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer

I wanted to do a fun post today giving you a little look inside my phone and what apps I use daily. I love seeing what other people have and I hope you guys love it just as much! I won’t really touch base on the standard apps that come pre-installed on the phone because that’s boring and everyone has those.

Spotify

I don’t have my own personal Spotify account yet. I tried making an account to put my wedding playlist on but their system was messing up big time. I used my sister’s account (bless her soul) for the wedding playlist and haven’t gotten around to deleting the app yet.

Social Media – Facebook (Facebook Messenger), Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube

Because who, in this day and age, can go without these apps?

WordPress

I love using WordPress’ mobile app. It makes it so easy to post and interact with people on the go. I use my laptop to write my blogs but my phone for most everything else!

Pinterest

There is no other place to go for inspiration and motivation than Pinterest. I wanted to give app a special shout out because by the time you’re reading this, I should have Obsessive Compulsive Designer’s Pinterest account up and running! Be sure to follow it for more!

LinkedIn

For those who don’t know, I also have a full time job and so many opportunities happen from networking. LinkedIn is a great networking tool. I don’t spend much time on it but I always keep the app on my phone for when people want to connect

Amazon

My obsession. Amazon Prime is everything!

Bank App

Nothing special, but definitely a must. I’m one of those people who checks my accounts daily.

Best Fiends

I first heard of this game from Casey Holmes on Youtube a few months ago. I am SO addicted to games like this. I won’t go into detail, because I’m definitely a nerd when it comes to things like that, but you should definitely download it and give it a go. It’s free so why not?

Design Home

I just recently downloaded this app and I love it already. I’m an interior designer by profession so a game like this is right up my alley. It’s so interesting to me to see many of the vendors we carry on this app.

Google Calendar

Google Calendar is WAY better than the Calendar app that Apple has pre-installed on your phone. Google Calendar is how I keep my blogs organized, and really my life. I’m not big into writing on a physical calendar because I’m always moving stuff around and I hate the imperfection of eraser marks.

Little Moments

This is the major photo editing app I use for all my blog photos. All my photos go through the same filter and correcting. I love this app because you can select filters but choose how opaque you want them to be. I don’t like giving my pictures the over-edited look so this app is perfect.

Live Collage

This app I don’t use as often. I just use this app to put pictures in a collage or stack them. Other than that, I don’t touch this app.

I hope you enjoyed getting a peek into my phone. Let me know down below what apps you recommend. I would love to try out something new!

Radha Rosehip Oil Review

img_9120

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer

Earlier this week, I posted about a bunch of skincare and makeup products I just hauled. I purchased this little beauty a week or so before those items and thought I would do a special post all about this. I’ve been using this oil for about two weeks and I could see the results within the first week. This stuff is magic!

Why purchase this product?

Rosehip oil is known to heal scarring, prevent acne, and give your skin a healthy amount of moisture to keep you from drying out in the colder months (and year round honestly). I’ve been meaning to switch up my skin care routine and swap out my moisturizer for an oil. This is honestly the best product I have purchased for my face thus far. If you remember my Lush review, the Mask of Magneminty broke me out SO bad. Within the first few days of using this rosehip oil, it was healed and my skin looked amazing. I’m not sure where this has been all my life but I’m sure glad I purchased it now!

How do I use this product?

I use this oil on my face and neck at night only. After I wash my face at night, I’ll apply a generous amount all over my face and neck to really moisturize. The reason I put emphasis on using it at night is because (even though you can’t see it through the bottle’s tint) this oil is bright orange and leaves your skin a bit orange. It’s nothing to be worried about at night though as it seeps into your skin throughout the night and the tint wears off by morning.

Where can I purchase this product?

I got my oil on Amazon. I’ll leave the link here for you to go purchase it. This is such a great deal because you get so much product for such a little price. (And I mean Amazon Prime shipping isn’t too shabby either) Rosehip oil isn’t hard to find but I love this brand and highly recommend it to everyone!

Makeup & Skincare Haul

Capture.JPG

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer

I’ve been going a little spender crazy this month but I’m not mad about it! Beauty product prices never cease to amaze me. So expensive! For products that go over the majority of my face though, I definitely pool more money into. Something simple like mascara I could care less about. I just want the best of the best on my skin. Speaking of skin, let’s start with skincare products first.

Origins Active Charcoal Mask

After my disastrous attempt with the Lush mask, I needed a good charcoal mask to work on clearing up my skin asap. I’ve heard about this mask for a while now and decided to give it a go. Charcoal is great for extracting black heads and all the junk that gets in your skin. This product is probably the one I am most excited for!

RCMA Powder

Kathleen Lights shed light on this beauty and I’ve finally decided to purchase it! I’m hoping it will be the perfect setting powder for the big day! (que the wedding bells)

Hourglass Stick Foundation

I’ve been very intrigued by the stick foundations and of all the reviews I have heard on them, this one seems like it would be a good fit for my skin. I decided to pick it up prior to the big day to try out. I’ll let you all know my thoughts! Let me know yours if you have a better wedding foundation recommendation!

Sephora Collection Pro Press Full Coverage Complexion Brush

The reviews I read on the Hourglass foundation recommended a brush as opposed to a sponge for fuller coverage, which is what I’m aiming for in this foundation. So I picked up this Sephora Pro brush because of all the amazing things people have said about it! It’s sooo soft, I almost feel bad getting makeup on it!

Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray

I fully anticipate this product to work wonders! I’ve not heard many people, if any, complain about this setting spray. I’m hoping this will give my face makeup the extra push that it needs on the big day!

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Frill Seeker

When I saw this color, I knew I needed to have it. The color is the exact shade I wanted for my toes on the big day. It’s going to compliment my dress beautifully!

Vegas Nay Lashes in Easy Elegance

Perfect lashes for the big day as well. Dramatic but wispy enough to not look ridiculous on my eyes! I’ve heard great things about this brand so I’m excited to finally give them a try.

As you can see, most of these items were purchased in mind for the big day (minus the Beauty Blender – just replacing my old sponge). I’m hoping I have the perfect combination within these products. I’ve picked some of the most recommended products so I’m not too worried. As always, I will update you all in a few weeks with my results!
