Anjou Essential Oil Review

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer.

Essential oil diffusers are a huge trend that is seen everywhere nowadays. And for good reason! I just finished up my large sample pack that I ordered along with my diffuser. I purchased my diffuser around Christmas last year and use it religiously! It’s become a HUGE part of my night routine. I find it so relaxing and helps me sleep so much better. I’ve recently started bringing my diffuser out into my living room to keep the good vibes and relaxing scents going all day! I may to purchase another solely for the living room so I don’t have to keep moving it around so much.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Anjou diffuser I purchased and, consequently, the same goes for their oils. I have been loving their line. I just repurchased the same sample pack that came with my diffuser from Amazon. I used up every single oil and loved each and every one. I’ll leave a link here to a post where I tell you my favorite essential oil combinations so you can give these a try if you buy this pack. Like I said earlier, I got this same pack about six months ago and just recently ran through it all. I’d say that’s a pretty good life span for these oils for being used all night every night! I’m eager to break into my next sample pack and to branch out in the future and try out other oils.

3 Favorite Essential Oil Combinations

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer

I got a diffuser for Christmas and have been using it EVERY.SINGLE.DAY since I opened it. I’m so in love with it! I highly recommend everyone getting one. I love it way more than my scentsy and the specific model I got is also a humidifier which is always a plus. I’ll leave a link to the specific one here. The diffuser came with a few essential oils to play around with and I thought I’d share a few of my favorite combinations. I always feel like a scientist when mixing all of these together. 🙂

Lavender & Eucalyptus

Lavender + Eucalyptus

This is my ultimate bedtime combination. It’s so relaxing and smells absolutely amazing!

LemonGrass & Sweet Orange

Lemon Grass + Sweet Orange

I love to use this scent during the day, especially after I’ve just cleaned, because it’s so fresh and fruity. It’s a great combination for a clean fresh feel to your room.

Peppermint & Tea Tree

Tea Tree + Peppermint

This last one is my go-to when I’ve had a long day or I have a bad headache. Peppermint is great for aiding in head aches and the tea tree scent is so relaxing.

Leave me a comment below and let me know what your favorite combination is!

Lush Mini Haul

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer

This weekend, after a great recommendation, I stopped in at my local Lush store FOR THE FIRST TIME. I know, I know. What took me so long? I’m not sure either. I was probably worried that I would get addicted; and it’s safe to say, that I am now officially addicted! I’ve been needing a great cruelty free hair and face mask for a while now. Plus, the fact that they use 100% recycled product for their packaging really makes me happy. I can already tell this is a brand I’m totally on board with.

I’ve seen a lot of people rave about the Mask of Magnaminty and thought I would give it a try! It smells amazing to the point where I have to tell myself that I shouldn’t eat it haha. What drew me to this mask is the fact that it’s deep cleaning and exfoliating. I do have a Clarisonic but haven’t gotten around to ordering a new brush head for it; so, I was in need of a good exfoliating mask. I reach for my Glam Glow Powermud mask about once a week, if not more. However, it doesn’t exfoliate my skin as well as my Clarisonic and definitely doesn’t work as well as the Mask of Magnaminty. I tried the Mask of Magnaminty for the first time last night and fell in love! I’m going to keep using it for the next couple weeks and update you all on my thoughts!

My hair definitely could use a good trim as I haven’t been to the salon in a couple months; but, I wanted to get a good conditioning mask to give my hair a fighting chance before taking scissors to it! I opted towards something so conditioning that it is an actual conditioner, Lush’s Retread conditioner to be exact! What I like to do is wet the ends of my hair with lukewarm water to open up my hairs cuticles and make sure the mask is being used to its full potential. Then I’ll take a decent amount and apply it to my ends (never going past the middle of my hair). I like to leave the product in for about 15 minutes before washing it out in the shower. I tried this mask out for the first time last night as well and was EXTREMLY impressed! I didn’t have much hope for my dead ends but this really put life back into my hair in just one use. I will be continuing to try this out as well for the next couple of weeks and let you know my thoughts!

Wedding Planning Essentials

1

Hello you, and welcome to inside the mind of an Obsessive Compulsive Designer.

For those who may not know, I LOVE planning. Planning big events, or even just a small get together, gives me life. Event management was always my back up career if design hadn’t panned out. So, planning my wedding is very exciting to me and I love every single moment. Planning – I love. The stress that comes along with planning? Not so much. Which is why my fiancé have been engaged for a year already and our wedding date is still over a year away. We’re an oddball couple for today’s standards it seems with a 2+ year engagement. However, my fiancé and I both wanted a long engagement. We were living together prior to our engagement so marriage really isn’t going to do anything different for us besides make it “official”. Why rush it? I’d much rather take my time and enjoy the planning without the stress of an impending deadline. So that is exactly what we are doing! Being a perfectionist isn’t exactly a great trait for planning such a big event; however, I’ve found a few tools that have been making the process a breeze!

Until I got engaged, I had never seen The Knot anywhere but now that I have been planning, I see it EVERYWHERE (and thank goodness for it). The Knot has simplified so much for me and really helped me open my eyes to how many little details need to be decided. I went ahead and purchased one of their books, The Knot Book of Wedding Lists, and a planner of theirs called The Knot Ultimate Wedding Planner. These two items have helped so much. First of all, how great are lists? This book of lists is a life saver and helps me prioritize both with scheduling and budgets. They bring up lists of questions to ask vendors and venues that I never would have thought of. Asking these questions saved me so many headaches and hidden fees along the way. It definitely helps me make my decisions much faster. I’m a big advocate for planners and this wedding planner is great. They provide numerous pages to fill in with your thoughts and desires from your vendors and your big day in general. They even help with colors and inspiration. (Which was not needed for a designer with thousands of wedding Pinterest boards in the make.) This planner is huge and allows plenty of room to add more material. When I was interviewing venues I kept all of the brochures and pamphlets they gave me in here along with my annoyingly diligent notes. This way I can keep all of my vendor’s information in one safe place.

Both of these books have been a GREAT help and definitely help me keep my OCD in check. 😉 I can’t wait to keep using these throughout this planning process. I’ll post the links to where you can buy these books down below if you’re interested. If you have a wedding coming up, I highly recommend!
